A 9,000-mile road trip generates a lot of data.
As part of #Road2Summit, Vijay Rao, Founder of https://t.co/YI6jMMtsDv, is documenting every mile of his cross-country journey with real-time telemetry powered by the Databricks Lakehouse.
Follow along to see how data is powering the trip, and keep an eye out for Vijay at #DataAISummit: https://t.co/e3GDplhFUP
See you next week!
Really excited to open source a new project: Omnigent, a meta-harness for AI agents.
It lets you build multi-agent coding and custom agents, sitting above Claude Code, Codex, Pi, and agent SDKs to let you compose them. It also adds live collaboration and rich control policies.
Databricks just launched the industry's first Context Engineer Associate cert! 💻
It assesses your ability to design, assemble, and govern the information AI agent systems receive at inference time: retrieval, memory, tool integration, context-window management, and governance.
The exam is in beta and debuts at @databricks Data + AI Summit where you can be one of the first to take it. It's walk-in at the cert room with one free attempt on-site.
The learning material itself is free, the hands-on labs may vary, and the other Databricks certs will be 50% off on-site as well.
I'm excited to attempt it myself! 🙏
💻You can also tune in to the Summit virtually for free ✨ https://t.co/Hh4HMm1AXQ

Can’t wait to attend this year! LMK if you'll be there in person - Let's meet up! 🎉

Introducing 𝗢𝗺𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁, a meta-harness to combine, control, and share your agents.
The best teams already mix models and harnesses and design loops that drive teams of agents. No single harness can keep up with that alone. So we built the layer above — we call it a 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗮-𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀.
Omnigent sits above the tools you already use, Claude Code, Codex, Pi, and your own agents, and gives them one shared layer:
• 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: combine models, harnesses, and techniques without rewriting code, and switch between them with one-line changes
• 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹: stateful, data-centric policies and cost budgets enforced at the meta-harness layer, not via prompts — let agents run without watching them
• 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: share a live agent session via URL with full history, so teammates can review, comment, and steer in real time
Every session is reachable from a terminal, the web, a desktop app, and your phone.
We built Omnigent for our own use at Databricks and are open sourcing it under Apache 2.0. https://t.co/hOpOJTrdZH
Business users can already use Genie to ask descriptive questions in natural language. Now the same conversational workflow can support predictive analytics too.
By combining Databricks Genie, TabPFN, and Agent Bricks, teams can turn questions like “Which customers are likely to churn?” or “Which promotion is most likely to close this deal?” into predictive answers in seconds.
Instead of relying on specialized ML workflows and dedicated data science teams, the system dynamically assembles governed Lakehouse data and generates predictions within the same conversational experience.

#DataAISummit is less than one week away!
If you're still locking in your schedule, we've highlighted a few sessions worth adding to your agenda. AI agents, production AI, AI-native applications, and the future of the agentic stack will be front and center throughout the week.

Replit and @databricks integration just leveled up.
Build apps where every user sees only what they should. Your HR analyst can build a full org view for the CEO without ever accessing the underlying data.

Streaming data into the lakehouse shouldn't require provisioning infrastructure, managing brokers, or tuning partitions.
Zerobus Ingest is a fully managed, serverless, streaming ingest service that accepts data from any producer and writes it directly into Unity Catalog governed Delta tables. Create a table, push data, and query it in seconds.
To demonstrate what's possible, the team used NASA's NEOWISE dataset—representing 200 billion data points—to ingest 1 petabyte of data in under 24 hours with zero pre-configuration, sustaining 12 GB/s and 12 million rows per second to a single table.

Back by popular demand! 📘 Delta Lake: The Definitive Guide book signing returns to Data + AI Summit 2026.
If you are at Data + AI Summit, come meet the authors, say hi to the Delta Lake community, and pick up a signed copy while supplies last.
🗓️ Tuesday, June 16
🕝 2:00–2:30 PM
📍 Dev Lounge, Data + AI Summit Expo, Moscone Center
Books tend to go quickly, so plan to stop by early. Hope to see you there! 👋

The agentic AI stack has standards for connecting tools and defining skills, but it still has no standard protocol to share assets across organizations and platforms.
Today that means copying files, custom point-to-point integrations, and fragmented vendor-specific marketplaces.
This week we launched OpenSharing, the next evolution of Delta Sharing and the first open protocol to cover agent skills, AI models, and unstructured data. It is now a Linux Foundation project, available on GitHub.
@fredericl covers the full story for @thenewstack: https://t.co/ywxqiMiP3A
We are honored to be recognized by @OpenAI with the Data Intelligence Platform Award.
This recognition reflects the work our teams have done together to bring frontier models into the enterprise, grounded in the governed data and context essential for solving complex business problems. We are excited to continue partnering with OpenAI to push the boundaries of enterprise intelligence.
We are looking forward to hosting @gdb, Co-founder and President of OpenAI, at Data + AI Summit. He will join Databricks CEO @alighodsi to discuss why enterprise context is the foundation for capable AI and what the future of agentic data work looks like.
AI governance is becoming a data governance challenge, and organizations need a consistent way to govern agents, models, MCP servers, and data together.
Unity Catalog and Unity AI Gateway extend governance across AI systems with identity-aware access controls, runtime policies, guardrails, auditability, observability, and cost intelligence across every agent interaction.
Built on open standards, the approach supports consistent governance across Databricks and third-party AI ecosystems without slowing AI adoption.

Delta Sharing became one of the most popular ways to exchange data thanks to its open cross-platform nature. We’ve now expanded it to also support any Iceberg client and to share AI assets like agent skills and unstructured data. It needed a new name, so welcome OpenSharing!
