This landscape uses electrically functionalized and pleated textiles as sensitive surfaces reacting to touch to interact with a video-projected digital clone of this scenery.
To reduce waste, a team, including researchers in @MITEECS, developed a program that helps users create outlines for adaptable clothing, such as pants that can be reconfigured into a dress. Each of these pieces can be replaced, rearranged, or restyled.

Bodies change and styles evolve.
How can our clothing adapt with us?
Refashion explores resizing and restyling garments from a set of reusable building blocks.
Same parts, many possibilities.

Presenting Texergy at #uist2025 !
We explore on-body passive actuation whose entire end-to-end system can be integrated into the clothing.
Texergy does this by “powering” the actuation with the user themselves mechanically in a programmable manner.
The water-based polymer gel invented by DMSE alum Tiffany Yeh and marketed by startup Eztia can cool the skin by up to 18°F by absorbing body heat and dissipating it into the air. The reusable gel provides cooling for six to eight hours.

🪄 What if SMARTPHONES DISAPPEARED !?
🧵⚡️Could their INTEGRATED CIRCUITS be hidden INSIDE textile FIBERS !?
🔬FiberCircuits explores this speculation, and opens a MINIATURIZATION framework to manufacture IMPERCEPTIBLE WEARABLES!
