@sallyschu@TMWData Lunch = same as dinner, a mid-day meal. Did you know that what we called "dinnerladies" at school are now called "lunchtime assistants"? So maybe the use of dinner for a mid-day meal will die out after all!
@TMWData My POV as a northerner (UK):
Dinner = mid-day meal OR what you go out to a restaurant to eat
Tea = evening meal eaten at home
Supper = what posh people eat OR a glass of milk and a piece of toast (or similar) before bed
Oh my! This is something to bring a smile to those of us working madly to prepare for #GDPR - at least we haven't done this => https://t.co/Q8AMc34fx3
My new fave thing is spotting mistakes in privacy policies. The @Space_NK one still has someone's notes in it 😂 particular fave is 'do we do this?' #gdpr
Now that the brilliant @mollymath has galvanised a whole new set of #grimgraph hunters, I'm looking forward to seeing more truly horrible examples shared on here. Here's a cracker to get things started!
@mollymath@paulrouke And I’m loving that the 14ft cat still lives on! That’s one of my favourite examples ever and I still use it in my #dataviz training
Bar graphs are hard to get wrong, unless you make them 3D of course. But somehow @degiroeu have made a hideous #grimgraph out of this one. And it undervalues the point they’re making too - double fail! (Thanks to @albertoapardo for sharing)
Want to freak yourself out? I'm gonna show just how much of your information the likes of Facebook and Google store about you without you even realising it
A lovely illustration of how truncating lines on a chart can mislead, and in turn lead our brains to underestimate a serious issue #grimgraph https://t.co/mL6t5yQYIJ
@TheEconomist On the left: the original @TheEconomist chart
On the right: what the chart should look like without the subtle fudging (credit to @Zarkwan)
I’m a few days late in sharing this, but here’s a brilliant #grimgraph (if that’s not an oxymoron) for all Remainers to enjoy! Thanks for the share @notabbott - I absolutely LOVE this use of the dreaded pie chart => https://t.co/VHxaY5mMCk
“Data, for all that it is about the numbers, it is actually about people." On #InternationalWomenDay2018 that means thinking about gender balance in your teams and #pressforprogress. @TheDataIQ https://t.co/WzyF7Lot6S https://t.co/8RY7tt9aPE
