Spoke to a friend who for a second night is back out to trap a pregnant cat & a kitten & there are so many more out there. So many get home from work, tend to their own animals quickly, eat quickly & go! Trapping is not easy but changes cats'lives & reduces cat population.#angels
“Fireworks may last only seconds, but for some animals the consequences can continue for days, weeks or longer.”
Halloween is fun for many, but fireworks, loud noises and bonfires can cause major distress to wild animals and household pets, writes dog behaviourist Suzi Walsh.
Thousands of children lost their healthcare not for any clinical reason, but because of organised transphobia by the UK government, media and a handful of anti-trans ‘activists’.
Someone might pass this on to Mr P Tóibín, who has blocked me.

Almost 200 families, including Bloody Sunday families, have issued the below letter to the British Secretary of State through Relatives for Justice and the Pat Finucane Centre.
All of the families have been bereaved by the British Army and the RUC.
It’s immoral to pardon the IRA, a terrorist organisation that deliberately targeted innocent people, then pursue our soldiers who were acting on orders, on the say so of Dublin or Sinn Fein

As a former British officer who served in Afghanistan, I will not be voting for the Government’s Troubles Bill.
Those men and women who served during the Troubles made split-second decisions while operating under orders and the rules of engagement, in conditions most of us cannot imagine.
The legal principle governing the use of force has not changed. British soldiers in Northern Ireland back then were guided by the same principle that guided me and my colleagues in Afghanistan.
However, rules and standards have shifted since then, and soldiers shouldn’t be judged retrospectively by rules that did not exist when they served.
Nor should they be exposed to endless or vexatious re-litigation without new material evidence.
That is neither fair nor just and could impair critical decision-making on the battlefield.
Michéal Martin to Sinn Féin today:
"I won't take lectures from you, a party that once supported Nazism in WW2. Sinn Féin leaders colluded with the Hitler regime, and Sean Russell was the key person, and your party leader, Mary Lou McDonald, unveiled a statue to Sean Russell".
Stupid idea that at the very least promoted the idea that it’s ok to drive to a pub .. have alcohol and drive off home. I can imagine the defence in a court case .. all funded by the taxpayer .. the RSA are not fit for purpose at all.
A plan by the Road Safety Authority to install breathalysers in pubs and hotels nationwide has been stood down. It’s understood the decision follows ministerial intervention today. Tonight the Minister of State
with responsibility for road safety, Sean Canney, welcomed the news
A lot of menswear today is boring because a lot of companies run by people with no technical skills. 175 years ago, menswear was made by bespoke tailors. The rise of industrial manufacturing and ready-to-wear split that role into designer, pattern maker, and sewer. Today, we have a lot of micro brands are run by people who are not tailors, designers, pattern makers, or sewers. They simply send a pair of chinos or an Oxford shirt to a factory and ask for modest changes (e.g., "make this fuller/ slimmer"). Thus, endless copies of essentially the same thing, differing only in branding and marketing.
Independent Ireland TD Ken O’Flynn says Big Tobacco can help government fight black market cigarettes and has proposed Philip Morris and Japan Tobacco International appear before an Oireachtas committee – to talk about how Ireland taxes their products.

enjoy seeing this woman's work. sustainability is not just about buying "quality" clothing (a more nuanced concept than some give credit for), but also a person's willingness to pay what it costs to repair things when they wear down.
