@IdiotsXSports@Jolly_Olive If I cared about the thumbs down, Lindor wouldn’t be my favorite Mets SS of all time. You’re out here arguing that a nice 36-game sample in which the Mets went 15-22 is a comparable stretch run in impact to Yoenis Cespedes & Winker
@IdiotsXSports@Jolly_Olive They gave up their most recent 1st round draft pick to get him & then made zero attempt to re-sign him even after he finished strong. The front office’s actions say more about him than anything I ever could
@IdiotsXSports@Jolly_Olive Who said anything about thumbs? In the 10 games before Baez himself got hurt from 7/31-8/10, he slashed .171/.216/.343/.559 & the Mets fell out of first place. By the time he returned, they were already 6 GB & then he turned it on
@Jolly_Olive You serious? Baez had a nice triple slash for a couple months but was a poison pill that destroyed the season. The 5 game lead we had after his first game was 11.5 back by the end
Jack Flaherty is this year’s Jeff Suppan/Edinson Volquez.
Solid for a few years ➡️ Bottom falls out ➡️ Resurgent season ➡️ Pitches better than he ever has or will vs. Mets in the postseason
The cue shot by Kody Clemens in the 7th was the lynchpin of the entire game. If Diaz instead faced 1-2-3 to start the 8th with no up/down, the outcome would’ve absolutely bee different. So what? I’d have signed up for a split, back to Citi!
