@OleMissCRNA Yes, I am an advocate for patients and highly recommend vaccinations including COVID. I am an MD, FACP internist and hospitalist caring for patients with COVID illness. It breaks my heart to see such suffering and death from something now largely preventable with a vaccine.
@barstoolsports Well, we’ll miss him and any others who feel that strongly about it. However, it seems like the vaccine is a tiny risk, especially when the personal and public health benefit is so high. His risks playing football far outweigh the risk of the vaccine. Here come lawyers I guess.
@DrGolfShirt Internal Medicine : ain’t afraid of nuffin! Put 'em up, put 'em up! Which one of you first? I'll fight you both together if you want. I’ll fight you with one paw tied behind my back. I’ll fight you standing on one foot. I’ll fight you with my eyes closed!
I love EPIC.
I see a strange constellation of signs & symptoms.
I think about ordering a mildly obscure test: cosyntropin stim, ceruloplasmin, etc.
I search for the test and find someone else did it a month or a year ago.
I find their note thinking the same thing I’m thinking.
We are trained to deliver compassionate evidence-based care to suffering human beings and we are paid to write notes.
The disconnect between these two unrelated tasks is the origin of burnout, job dissatisfaction, and unhappiness in the medical profession.
