Most people I speak to about the #buildingsafetycrisis don't realise that even after the tragedy of #Grenfell there is STILL dangerous cladding and building defects in so many buildings. No #JusticeforGrenfell and no one making sure it doesn't happen again.
9 years since Grenfell.
Today, and every day, we remember the 72 lives lost.
We stand with the bereaved, survivors and residents in their fight for truth, accountability and lasting change.

The anniversary of the Grenfell tragedy is coming up. So many people I speak to don't realise there are still SO MANY unsafe buildings. It is beyond belief that successive governments have failed to get a grip on a national scandal #endourcladdingscandal

@EOCS_Official@UKLabour Non-cladding defects is a scandal that merits criminal investigation. Builders cut corners by slapping up plasterboard asap to hide their cheats. Where were the inspectors? Criminal to make unqualified leaseholders cover costs. Criminal to put VAT on these essential works.
The Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee has published its report on the draft Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Bill. The government must go further and faster to address the problems with leasehold.

The Remediation Bill is too little, too late.
A piecemeal approach won't help leaseholders trapped in unsafe, unsellable homes - or deliver the change @UKLabour promised.
We need decisive action, not more half-measures.
@SophieLB1 Absolutely heartbreaking this, I'm so sorry to hear your and others' pain continues. It truly has become and continues to be a national disgrace the way that this #claddingscandal has been dealt with by multiple governments and other stakeholders.
@TheNewsAgents, can you amplify?
9 years ago I put my trust in the housing market. I piled my life savings into a home. 1 month after completion Grenfell happened. 3 years later I would be sent a bill for £208k to fix historic fire safety defects and 6 years after that I am still unable to sell or move on.
Can absolutely relate to this. For me the physical entrapment has been much less than the emotional and financial. My health has suffered for years. With no end in sight. #endourcladdingscandal
Good! @TaylorWimpey destroyed my life. Built flats with #Grenfell cladding, refused to pay for fire alarms & #WakingWatchScam.
Their CEOs got paid millions while 57 innocent leaseholders paid £1 million+ to fix their criminality.
That rogue company needs to be destroyed.
Buildings Insurance of £14.5k skyrockets to... 3️⃣1️⃣1️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ POUNDS!
Each leaseholder now being forced to pay £4k.
16+ months since @mhclg said they’re working (with insurers) to maybe possibly perhaps consider action.
Working at their usual "pace".
"Getting mortgages for flats in buildings that need fire safety repairs has been a challenge, while there is understandable reluctance to buy flats where there may be future repair costs. Meanwhile, some existing owners have been trapped in unsellable flats for years"
⏳⏳⏳
Apparently, @Keir_Starmer is "determined that everyone should have a safe and secure home" and Labour is "fixing building safety."
Has anyone told @SteveReedMP@mhclg? 👀
Absolutely raging today about the #buildingsafetycrisis as I try to contain my very active almost one year old in our flat. I cannot believe this is still going on and I am still trapped. 8 YEARS of this absolute hell.
