A tornado came through my sister Cathy’s neighbourhood last night here in Virginia Beach. A debris field came right over her home but thankfully spared of damage.

BREAKING: A large tornado has been reported in Virginia Beach, Virginia. There appears to be multiple homes which are severely damaged according to early reports.

Additional Details:

- The Tornado touched down around 6PM ET near River Road and Great Neck in Virginia Beach.

- VBFD has reported that the storm damaged multiple homes in the 2200 block of Haversham Close.

- Thousands are without power.

- Officials ask that residents call 911 for emergencies and 311 for information regarding other impacts or information.
