A huge percentage of the crypto partnership announcements i’ve come across are unreadable to anyone outside crypto 🧵👀

New chain integrates with new protocol, tokenomics adjust, nobody outside 200 accounts understands or cares

But then this one is different, because everybody already knows the story

The most exciting part of Hitchhiker's Guide for me is not really the number 42

I’m more thrilled by the filing cabinet

Earth gets demolished over an eviction notice that was technically on display, in a locked drawer, in a disused lavatory, behind a sign that said "beware of the leopard." The record existed, nobody could ever find it in time.

A species lost the whole planet to a reasoning chain with no audit trail

Deep Thought spent 7.5 million years to produce one number nobody could explain while the Heart of Gold's infinite improbability drive does the opposite; which is instead of searching, it calculates the exact improbability of an outcome and lands there directly

One machine is unbounded compute with no trace while the other is bounded and fast

Marvin, a planet-sized brain, gets assigned door duty, because "call the biggest model for everything" was the only setting anyone had

Why this matters today is because explaining "bounded reasoning graphs" to someone outside AI/crypto usually takes a whitepaper.

Explaining "the answer was 42 but nobody could show their work" takes one sentence, and forty years of readers already get it instinctively

re: in the book, a supercomputer spends 7.5 million years computing the answer to life, the universe and everything, then came up with the answer as 42. But then nobody can explain how it got there

I find this to be the actual mainstream moment and not the number

The fact that a 46 year old comedy about a universe run by unauditable machines is the easiest onboarding ramp AI infrastructure has ever had

Deep Thought could have shown its answer in one step if it had SERV reasoning by @openservai but instead, they built a planet.
