I’ve reflected often on Britain’s fate over the 10 years since the referendum. I argued in columns for Remain, and was among the voices at @thetimes supporting that position. And I’ve come to the difficult but ineluctable conclusion that I was right all along about everything.
If Starmer is toppled, the outside world will look on with bemusement and ask “ when will the UK stop knee-jerking its way through politics and political leaders and seriously apply itself to solving the massive problems of the day?” I will struggle to answer this.
Tom thinks building safe cycling infrastructure is virtue signalling.
I think he’s also advocating nationalising the private mobile phone companies.
Or he’s having a bad Sunday afternoon. Mouthed off on twitter and now can’t backtrack.
@LouiseMensch@KevinASchofield@TheNewsAgents “Shoddy”! There was nothing shoddy about it.
It was deliberately crafted to stir up hate and division.
Shoddy implies it was a bit careless & poorly made. It was no such thing.
We all see it and public figures on the right of the spectrum need to call it out.
🚨 WATCH: Nigel Farage is repeatedly heckled by MPs as he calls on Keir Starmer to end "two-tier policing"
Starmer: "His response has been to appeal for rage. That’s his response to a father who lost his son & asked for this not to happen... it shows exactly who he is"

Conventional wisdom says that leaving the European Union has harmed the British economy.
Listen to almost any Brexit debate – over the airwaves or on the professional conference circuit – and it’s invariably taken for granted being outside the EU has done serious economic damage.
Now we're in June, and as the 23rd approaches – the ten-year anniversary of that hotly-contested, era-defining referendum – this message will be rammed home again and again.
But it simply isn’t true.
