This is what is annoying me about our COVID response. You try to plan and get ready then you find out that what was said was not as clear as it should be and now you have to change. The first announcement should have had all this clearly set out.

Is it possible that a shift towards funding and helping could benefit both the welfare-focussed and the economics-focussed?
Firstly, I think we should just feed hungry kids.
Secondly, what would the economic effect be? Is it not sending money across the country (in that expense avoided is akin to income)? The poorest would proportionally benefit the most and are most likely to spend that extra...
...money (rather than it just adding to the pile). What would the economic effect of that spending be? Especially at a time when we are trying to encourage spending.
I seem to remember it was only after 2008 and austerity that the wider effect of public spending was considered...
