Très bel hommage au cinéma français (même s'il manque quelques célébrités) avec #Paris comme décor... et l'aide de l'I.A...

The IGCS Board of Directors met today ahead of the #IGCS2025 Annual Global Meeting to discuss the future of gynecologic oncology — focusing on strategy, community, and building a stronger IGCS for our members and the patients we serve.
We look forward to welcoming everyone to Cape Town tomorrow as #IGCS2025 officially begins!
🎉 We are thrilled to announce that we’ve officially reached 60 graduates of the IGCS Gynecologic Oncology Global Fellowship Program! This milestone represents years of dedication, mentorship, and global collaboration in advancing gynecologic cancer care.
A heartfelt thank you to our mentors, program leadership, and IGCS Program Manager Susan Ralph for making this possible. Congratulations to all our fellows—past and present! 💙🌍
July 17 is International Brachytherapy Day — honoring a powerful, lifesaving cancer treatment that delivers radiation directly inside or next to a tumor.
💡 What is brachytherapy?
It’s a form of internal radiation therapy that allows for highly targeted treatment with minimal damage to surrounding healthy tissue. For gynecologic cancers — especially cervical cancer — brachytherapy is a critical component of curative treatment.
Yet in many low-resource settings, access remains limited due to equipment costs, infrastructure, and lack of trained specialists. IGCS is a multidisciplinary society, reflecting the diverse expertise required to provide comprehensive care.
IGCS is proud to lead educational and mentorship and training initiatives that strengthen radiation therapy services around the world. This November, our Radiation Contouring Workshop in Cape Town (Nov 6) will feature hands-on image guided radiotherapy and brachytherapy training.

The first Brachytherapy Awareness Day was recognized in 2019, supported by several organizations including the American Brachytherapy Society and The Groupe Européen de Curiethérapie (GEC-ESTRO), which is a specialist group within the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO).
