@educationgovuk What about incentivising the teaching of design & technology which can be seen as providing the opportunity for learners to use what they have learned in other STEM subjects?
A wonderful and insightful discussion on how to design ethical products that consumers will want to buy and can afford to buy on the Bottom Line at https://t.co/OcntzBrxYP A must listen IMHO for D&T teachers and KS4/5 learners
@HarryBrighouse1 I met Tim when he visited Stantonbury Campus in Milton Keynes and many years later when he gave me advice on taking the Young Foresight Project forward. On both occasions he was inspirational. I am so sorry for your loss.
I won't be applying for some amazing opportunities being advertised but I will share what I would've written in an application....🧵
I would focus 'everything' in a school on learning and keep it as the core language for everything that happens.
@Dave_empath @TsuiAllen@GeographyLead@Locati0ns@ogdentrust I remember in the 1980’s using layers of thick card shaped as contours piled one upon each other as a former for vacuum forming 3D maps as a cross curricular activity between D&T and geography. Times have changed but not the ideas we have to teach!
@viv_ellis@BloomsburyAcEd@BERANews IMHO this is an important book that should be read by any teacher involved in initial teacher training as well as colleagues in HEI.
