He made 1️⃣4️⃣1️⃣ appearances and scored 2️⃣1️⃣ goals for the Iron between 1968 and 1971 before joining Liverpool and going on to be a superstar of the game.

@YTFC I am trying to locate the whereabouts of the former Yeovil Town player Mike Harrison who joined the club back in 1973. Mike made over 300 appearances for the club in six seasons. Do any older fans know if Mike is still living locally? Thanks,your help would be appreciated

@shrimperstrust @SUFCRootsHall 1968-69, mainly because of T.Roberts, Bentley, Birks, McMillan, Beesley, Kurila, Chisnall, Best, Moore, Clayton & Hamilton. We hammered Brentwood 10-1 in the F.A Cup & it was also my ever favourite season in almost 60 years.
Finally that shirt was banned by the bloody F.A.

@Andrew67198120 @SUEPAssoc @NorthernIreland @ManUtd WBA loaned us their shirts against Aldershot in April '69 which had dark blue stripes. However when TOFFS did a replica kit the blue was more of a royal blue but changed it after people complained. TOFFS shirt also had a coloured badge but it should have been dark blue & white.

@MauveAnd Never mind we go again, looking for former players is a real labour of love. In March one player Derek Tharme came back for the first time since 1963. Played just 5 matches then got injured and never played league football again. The joy on his face pre-match was a joy to see😃

@chris_sutton73 Fantastic article in the paper today Chris. Heartbreaking to read the piece by your Mum. I remember seeing your Dad play at Roots Hall for Carlisle back in 1971. There are loads of players from back in the day who are still suffering in silence and forgotten.

Fifty years later I still treasure those memories of what a fantastic player Billy was and still be able to call him my friend.
