The recently planted longest single run of new #hedging on the farm; over 850 metres! Many thanks to UK taxpayers for their contribution without which it wouldn’t be here. Will try to get it to establish well.

@RichMadd86 When’s it going good?

@cutlerstom Waded through my email inbox backlog today (rainy day) and noted how many emails there were from ag. firms trying to say we really need to use Autumn cereal insecticides without actually saying it out loud. I call it ‘Gove spraying’; he got the deter seed dressing taken away.

It does feel like we now have only two seasons in the year; drought season and flood season!

Russia is getting a taste of its own medicine.

St. Petersburg and the surrounding Leningrad region came under the largest Ukrainian drone attack, with hundreds of drones targeting critical infrastructure.

According to russian reports the following objects were hit:
The St. Petersburg Oil Terminal.
The VKontakte data center.
The 330 kV Vostochnaya electrical station.
A major cable-stayed bridge in St. Petersburg.
Parts of the region experienced electricity outages and disruptions to water supplies.

For years, russia has systematically attacked Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, oil facilities, and civilian infrastructure, trying to plunge Ukrainian cities into darkness.

Now, the war is increasingly reaching russia’s own critical infrastructure.

Putin wanted to destroy Ukraine’s economy. Instead, he is destroying russia’s economy.

Russia can stop this war at any moment by leaving Ukrainian territory.

Found this field walking and thought possibly an iron meteorite …but Grok says a Goethite terrestrial mineral.

It’s really heavy for its size.

Russia have plagued themselves.

[Annie Jacobsen @AnnieJacobsen]

🚨☣️BREAKING: Plague outbreak expands, Russia BSL-3 lab accident - FIVE hospitals now quarantined🚨☣️

The plague outbreak in Siberia, Russia has expanded w/5 hospitals now under QUARANTINE: Irkutsk Hospitals No. 1, No.3, No.10, Ivano-Matreninskaya Children's Hospital, and an unnamed maternity hospital (Lyudi Baikala news, Moscow Times).

Quarantine is NOT voluntary. Even in the U.S., quarantine is among the most extraordinary measures gov't can impose on American citizens who haven't been convicted, or even accused, of committing a crime. Quarantine means being forcibly confined and medically examined by law. U.S. quarantine can be imposed on anyone infected by a legally quarantinable disease listed below (this can change). One should assume Russia's quarantine protocols are even more severe. As of 2026, under Executive Order 14047, legally quarantinable diseases in the U.S. are:
■ Plague
■ Smallpox
■ Viral hemorrhagic fevers
■ Cholera
■ Diphtheria
■ Yellow fever
■ Infectious tuberculosis
■ Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)
■ Flu that can cause a pandemic
■ Measles
