@DavidRhoades@WilliamWolfe A better sample which uses the two words in the same way William did: A biblical baptist Southern Baptist reads his Bible and baptizes new believers. And you are ignoring my point while trying to correct my grammar, not his. Interesting.
@RingTailed16521@WilliamWolfe lol. I donโt post for likes. I try to speak truth, which is not determined by popular opinion. And SBC has admitted that previous positions it has taken were not biblical, which affirms my observation, whether you or anyone else likes to hear it.
@ULookRight@jackngraham Jesus would say that that is .0039% too many. Why donโt you agree with him instead of suggesting it is too small an amount to care? Every one of those children are precious in his sight, the impact of abuse is devastating, and those who perpetrate need to be millstoned, right?
@JeffreyPWiesner It is possible to do more than one thing at once. And something doesnโt have to be found in the Bible to be prudent, like rows of chairs/pews and pulpits etc.
@claysmith79 Alpha discovered that people in their online courses shared more honestly and cared for one another more deeply faster than people in the in person courses. Some people only have online options so letโs not shut them out of opportunities for fellowship and ministry.
@Brent_Hobbs It is not a Baptist distinctive. My non-Baptist denomination gives autonomy to churches within limits, just like SBC. Different limits, same principle. We just donโt brag about it as if it makes us special, like baptists do.
@pastordmack I am amazed how many people underestimate how their personal culture and history impacts how they interpret Scripture and also underestimate the extent to which Paul was speaking to a patriarchal society as he tried to bring freedom without unnecessary offense
@jm_larue@PastorRyanA Elders are told to shepherd and teach, but it is wrong to conclude that therefore every shepherd or teacher is an elder. Faulty logic leads to faulty theology. Our church has pastors and elders. Only one person is both. No Scripture teaches that model is wrong.
@CadenJCooper The authority of preaching or teaching is not in the preacher or teacher, but in the Scripture. Since authority resides in the Scripture, it doesnโt matter who preaches/teaches as long as they are faithful to Scripture. No man or woman adds to the authority of Scripture.
@fivesolatyler So much for Christ alone by faith alone. Tyler thinks regeneration depends on your view of the role of women. The belief that oneโs opinions take precedence over the clear Scriptural basis for regeneration (the death and resurrection of Christ) would itself be heresy, right?
