The only thing that can fix the current state of the Cubs is for their supposed good hitters (Seiya, Busch, Bregman, Dansby, Nico, Happ) start hitting consistently again, and for their supposed good pitchers (Boyd, Cabrera, Jamo, Shota) to pitch better.
@sonicboom9621@ChiefCub And here is the thing with Happ & Suzuki.
You can make the argument for keeping Happ in the 4th or 5th spot because he slugs. Alot.
But Suzuki is an automatic out and needs to be in the 8th spot just above Swanson in the 9th.
@CubsWorld80 Yes. But his production is not the problem.
It's where he is in the batting order.
Half of the Cubs issues right now are with the batting order.
Happ & Suzuki cant bat consecutively in the order
Lowering Suzuki to 7th fixes 30% of this
Bregman too. He should bat 2nd or 5th
Pitching reinforcements on the way for Cubs:
-Edward Cabrera recovering well from blister and will start for Cubs this weekend, Craig Counsell said.
-Matthew Boyd (knee) will make another rehab start Sat with Triple-A Iowa and is expected to join MLB rotation after that.
