@O2 hi there, I didn’t receive a confirmation email to claim my Blue Mondays reward. It’s been over 24hrs but nothing in my inbox or spam. Would you be able to resend please?
In time for Halloween, I've been handling some haunted art. Possessed dolls, paintings with terrifying backstories and creepy clowns are among the objects I've curated for 'House of Curses', opening Oct 31. Tickets here, if you dare https://t.co/AVZELgZnP5
Never felt a sense of achievement quite like fixing (thoroughly cleaning the filters of) my non functioning vacuum cleaner to return it to life. Dangerous levels of overconfidence expected for the rest of the day
Shocking news. Always thought he was one of toughest politicians to interview: smart, combative, ready to pounce if you made a misstep. And he turned the SNP into force it became. But very good company off camera
@MrLSaunders@BAFTA Exactly. And maybe read the room with patronising “we received lots of applications and can’t accept everyone” emails. We know, guys; that’s actually the substance of the problem
Perhaps we shouldn’t be upset that an exclusive & elitist organisation as @BAFTA should treat emerging filmmakers with such carelessness. Perhaps we shouldn’t expect meaningful apologies for truly jaw dropping incompetence that crushes spirits at a bleak time. But the mask is off
@MrLSaunders@BAFTA They made a very similar error 5yrs back with BAFTA Crew; exactly the same acceptance/correction mistake. Seems they’ve learned very little, and couldn’t have come at a worst time for people
@MrLSaunders@BAFTA I have! It’s already a source of great comfort, amusement, positivity but also sadness. Glad something good is coming from it, but some folks have really been through it
@MrLSaunders@BAFTA Thanks Laurence! I’m one of the lucky ones as I didn’t pick up the initial email until after the news broke but so many people affected. Really unacceptable from an organisation that should do better
Also, I’m not aware of any public statements they’ve made on this aside from via email. Think it’s kind of worthy of acknowledging the damage they’ve done, but that’s none of my business
I’m lucky: I saw the social media outrage before I’d seen my emails, but the elation then devastation people felt, compounded by their insufficient apologies? Despicable.
We should have zero confidence in BAFTA’s commitment to creating opportunities for emerging filmmakers
