I'm an anthropologist, sometimes I occupy things & such. I see anarchism as something you do not an identity so don't call me the anarchist anthropologist
@ALALibrary@gregmepstein@tsterndc We're also offering BLADs of "Cities Made Differently," a new book by David Graeber & @nikadubrovsky, which opens a space for invention & collaboration. Using playful graphics and curious facts, they invite us to rethink the worlds we inhabit.

Why have carnivals in the first place?
Carnival is an anti-war and activist art movement that is not about party politics. It is not a protest movement in the sense of building bridges with power but aims to reorganize the very logic of our relationship with authorities.
Remembering David: it's been 3 years since his death.
This is David's last video taken in Berlin the day before we left to Venice.
David would die a few days later.

Luister terug via: https://t.co/jcONgradgs
But the story of Libertalia is still obscure and mystic. I wonder what David would think of Zheng Yi Sao and the Chinese pirate society if he cast his eyes on Asia? https://t.co/EEnzkANobk @davidgraeber 2)
The next meeting of the London @HousmansBooks reading group is on Thursday 16th February at 7pm.
We are discussing Bullshit Jobs by @davidgraeber

See you there!
@b_lillico@RBReich@davidgraeber It's not zero-sum. It's a negative-sum monetary system, resulting in a negative-sum economy. 3-4 billion #bullshitjobs are destroying Earth, not contributing anything to society. #climatechange and "inflation" are symptoms of global nonsense employment.
it is wild to watch people become so alienated from their labor they've come all the way around to interpreting the the types of work from @davidgraeber's Bullshit Jobs as some sort of capitalist realist virtue and that casts Sisyphus's torture as a self-rewarding success hack.
"Whatever happened in 18th-century Madagascar, Pirate Enlightenment implies, we could surely all do with a bit more free-thinking and egalitarianism in our own social, sexual and political arrangements." (The Guardian)

“It is very hard to be objective about pirates. Most historians don’t even try.”
The late #DavidGraeber’s final posthumous book is out now!

@bfcarlson The late, great David Graeber @davidgraeber
Here’s him debating Peter Thiel on where the future went. And that topic isn’t even his intellectual bread and butter.
