During my research, I learn that elephants are a very intelligent species. They exhibit mirror self-recognition, an indication of self-awareness and cognition that has also been demonstrated in some apes and dolphins. #WhatIlearnedin39C

We could still have zoos, but we need to improve elephant welfare and zoo management to provide them with comfortable, healthy, and free living conditions, and gradually reduce the number of zoos-letting elephants back to nature in a realistic plan. #39canimals
