This photo brings to mind the difference between skills and industries.

This workbench was in an old factory that made and repaired fishing boats. I find both the old and the new equally fascinating and love photographing things people make and how they make them.

This is part of an old boiler from the days when steam engines powered industry. The bees knees in its day.

I wonder how many buildings with years of life left in them could benefit from some cheerful artwork? It doesn't have to be a Banksy to put a smile on the face of those who see it. There may be an opportunity for artists and businesses to help each other out.

My adventures with a camera sometimes turn up unusual sights. This one was so unexpected and amusing that it ended up in my picture files.

Spot the parked car!

Cars seem to be getting bigger these days (just compare a moden Mini to the original!). I've often wished car parks in the UK were organised at an angle like this, making it easier to drive into and out of a space.

Sometimes, you don't need to state the obvious. It depends on the audience.

Anyone familiar with #Lichfield will recognise this as a photo of the three spires of the cathedral. Even though the spires are upside down and reflected in water, they make an interesting picture.

Things have changed a little in Lichfield since the days of Dr Johnson and his famous dictionary. You can still find old buildings and quaint alleyways that would have been familiar to Johnson. It's a delightful city to walk round.
