i do think it’s funny that in order to rationalize the massive increase in newly disabled/chronically ill people many are resorting to 1800s style hysteria accusations bc the other explanation, that covid is disabling millions, would collapse the narratives they’re clinging to
a lot of people who mask irl aren't that serious or don't understand how covid spreads in detail, but sometimes make an effort.. that is better than not masking at all
Speaking as a Covid cautious therapist, I can say that just because you’re Covid cautious doesn’t mean you have OCD. To have OCD, the thoughts need to be irrational. There’s nothing irrational with not wanting to be harmed by a virus that can cause disability and death.
One of the most successful psyops is convincing people that marginalized people are annoying - because once someone’s suffering annoys you, abandoning them starts to feel righteous.
hot take, but not really: the majority of the advice you're getting about your life is just somebody describing what worked for them under conditions that no longer exist.
Notice how the same leftists constantly calling random poor disabled women “insane” for masking in 2026 will be silent here bc social notions of hysteria are colored by race, class, gender. Any leftists going to call Spielberg “mentally ill” or nah
Idk man the world has really left COVID conscious folk for dead and we r the ones who have to constantly worry about taking up too much space ??? Shit is really starting to get on my nerves
I am not disabled or immunocompromised. I still mask because I know what a single (let alone multiple, compounding) COVID infection(s) can do to a person. It's lonely and isolating and it's made so much worse by ostensible "leftists" promoting eugenics bc they don't want to mask.
Remember when the pandemic hit and everything was remote? Work, education. Disabled people had been begging for those things to be remote for over a decade until non-disabled people needed them. Two years after, they got rid of it. They can accommodate, they just don’t want to.
everyone who stopped masking the second they could get away with it has normalized constant illness and the abdication of responsibility to protect others
doctors are like, "but surely you'd feel safe to unmask around ME, the guy who is professionally obligated to be face-to-face with sick people all day every day?"
