@RoseElla1234 Love this. I always love a good hotel fight in a Bond movie & this one was brutal. It's intense & still makes me wince, even though I know Bond will get out of it alive. Plus, the aftermath with Bond & Vesper in the shower is so comforting.
@KittenByKitten Absolutely watch it. If this is your first time, then yes. Even if it isn't, watch it anyway. The Final Cut is great. I would argue that's the only one you need.
@SpyHards Agreed. Brosnan hit his peek as Bond in TWINE and this is one of those moments where he showed a more ruthless edge that was like Fleming's Bond.
@RagingOwlbear I agree. The scene w/Jabba gives more weight to Han & why he acts the way he does. What people fail to realize is Lucas wasn't happy with the original cut of SW. He made the se so he could finish the movie the way he originally envisioned. Good for him. ๐
@bigalthewasp@starwars I actually do like this movie. I think it's a great opening episode for the saga and I admire what Lucas did. I'll bet this looks fantastic in 4k. My dvd of it still looks great, but I'd love to see what it looks like in HD.
I just watched "The Mandalorian & Grogu." What a fun movie. I had a great time. Watching "Star Wars" on the big screen again, in MAY, where "Star Wars" began was a real treat. I really miss that, so it was nice to experience it again. What a great start to summer!
@ThatMoviePage That was George Lucas's idea & I think it's clever. It reminded me of "American Graffiti." I love how the hot rod brings us to the army trucks, then drives off, but we're left following the trucks & then Indy is pulled out of one. It's a nice transition.
@BigNick62385@TheSithAcademy Me too. I like how the scene selection shows each scene in motion rather than static. A lot of time & effort went into making those DVD's which were groundbreaking at the time, particularly TPM as it was the first to have a fly - on -the - wall style documentary format.
@annesheraton@psychfox Exactly! The world building Lucas created in the prequels was incredible. The sequels? Lets see... Jakku (another desert planet, ho hum). That planet on TLJ that recreated Hoth. Umm...gee, I'm trying to think of a planet that didn't basically copy another one.
I was 21 going on 22 (I was born two days before the original came out). I agree. For me, the movie was better than I anticipated. I tempered my expectations and thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Still do to this day.
@trevorbaxendale I agree. I wish Bond had pointed that out to M. What really bothers me is how M continually criticizes Bond for using his license to kill, a right she, in fact, granted him. What's the point of having a license to kill if you don't use it?
@For_Film_Fans I'm currently re-reading this one. I first read TDOTJ back in college & felt it was time to revisit it. I remember seeing the movie on T.V. At some point I want to add the movie to my collection.
@GamewithDave I agree. I never walked away from it. Unfortunately, the stores in my area don't sell as much physical media as they used to. Best Buy used to sell dozens of movies I couldn't find anywhere else. Now it only sells new releases. Older ones I have to get online.
