I never knew that giraffes also face the issue of poaching. Seeing that their hair is valuable, the poaching could be quite intense.

That's so interesting. I've always wondered how a lot of the data are taken for animal science. Jane Goodall described it as observations back in her time, but I assume we have better technology nowadays.

I do wonder if crows play a role in our ecosystem. From what I know, I think a lot of birds play the role of pest control in our ecosystem and prevent invasive species to grow.

Which animals do you think would be affected first by global warming? I know everyone talks about polar bears, but I heard aquatic animals would be the first to suffer due to the sensitivity of Ph balance. As more CO2 arises in the air, the acidity of the water increases.

Researching into chimpanzees, I realized that poaching is a danger for all endangered animals. The consideration for shoot-on-sight policies is so interesting and could potentially reduce poaching.

Lastly, I learned the importance of statistics in research papers. As a stats student, I was amazed at how much math is involved in animal science. All the data the researchers collected are then run through tests in the method section of the paper. #WhatIlearnedin39C

I learned how to use Wix, which is honestly an amazing tool. For the longest time, I thought creating a website was intimidating and hard until I started using Wix. It really made the design, color scheme, and other functions much easier. #WhatIlearnedin39C

I learned from Jane Goodall how social media has an effect on poaching. Dressing up chimpanzees in cute baby outfits or displaying them using phones misportrays the animals. Eventually, more people are looking to buy them, hence encouraging poaching. #WhatIlearnedin39C

I've learned so much in 39C. One of the most interesting facts I've learned is the role chimpanzees play in the ecosystem. By digesting saba seeds, they increase the odds of that seed germinating, ultimately shaping the environment to some degree #WhatIlearnedin39C
