@iowahawkblog Even by Texas Tech's own "aspirational" goals for AAU membership, they are nowhere near their targets.
And saying Texas Tech gives you the Texas "market" is like saying USF (AAU member as of 2023) or UCF would give you the Florida market.
@charlescwcooke@RoKhanna "Elon, how about just paying the 5% instead of hurling random insults?"
So if my choice is giving this loser $50 billion or hurling random insults, I know which choice I'm going with...
@monsterhunter45 If you're a fan of Games of Thrones, you've committed your time and $ to read 5 novels and about 4,244 pages of story.
Is it too much to ask for the story to be completed? I would never have started the novels if I had known he wouldn't finish the series.
It really is PERFECT that several elite economists just spent several weeks debating - with detailed data/charts/analysis/etc - US/EU wealth & living standards, & then a bunch of goofy European tourists simply tweeted abt a Texan gas station & settled the debate in 30 seconds 🤣
In the event of a major war, Boom will pivot immediately and make defense products.
Wartime defense production should come primarily out of a commercial industrial base 1/n🧵
Draymond on helping Thomas Haugh with his NBA Draft Decision
“When he (Will Richard) told me the number in millions that he'd make if he stayed at Florida, I was like "oh no question he should go back", once we got on the phone with Thomas the number was actually higher than Will thought or had told me it was...He's gonna solidify himself as one of the greatest Gators ever at his dream school, I just don't know it gets much better than that.”
@awstar11@varadmehta The best class I took in high school. Back in the day I took it to fill a slot in my schedule, little did I know how useful learning how to type would be…
@ishapiro@simongerman600 Japan has a population of 122 million people, Korea 52 million people, while Australia only has a population of 28 million people.
And this year they expanded it from 32 countries to 48.
Now, if Australia wants to be like Qatar, I'm sure FIFA will "work" ($$$) with them...
Ah, remembering how much shit I got for writing this huge feature, which we did over literally years, dozens of interviews. Many emails from defense industry traditionalists about how this was all vaporware and I got bamboozled, which was laughable to begin with.
Crickets now.

Today, the @usairforce selected Anduril for the production phase of the Collaborative Combat Aircraft program.
We are now on contract to deliver production FQ-44 fighter aircraft to support continued testing, validation, and, ultimately, operational fielding.
From prototype to production in two years. The first new company to win a fighter aircraft program in more than 50 years.
I gave this plaque to the Unit upon my retirement. It hangs in Delta.
This is what I wrote on it:
TO FREEDOM'S GUARDIANS

I found these Native American arrowheads on Range 19, which testifies to its long history of use that continues to this day. They symbolize man's first use of weapons for war, peace, and survival. The arrowheads are displayed as part of the Special Forces insignia. The atom emblem symbolizes today's threat to peace, the counterproliferation of weapons of mass destruction by rogue nations. A piece of trinitite represents the atom's nucleus. Trinitite is sand that was transformed into glass by the pressure and heat from the first atomic detonation, July 16, 1945, 5:29:49 A.M. at Trinity Site, near Alamogordo, NM. The plaque signifies the unit's role as the quiet guardians of our nation's freedom and public safety, for which this country is truly indebted. It has been my honor to serve with this organization.
2 yrs ago when I had surgery for cancer, the lady in the next bed was visited by a hospital administrator she had not met before, not her doctor, who stood at the end of her bed and said she had no option but to have MAID. The woman said “Absolutely not! I plan to get up and dance again”. The administrator then started to argue with her saying she had no choice but MAID without explaining why. The woman said “Well I’ll talk to my family when they come on Monday.” The administrator replied “They’re coming on Monday? Good, I’ll talk to them”. She headed off the family on Monday before they saw her and they came to our room primed to convince her she had to have MAID according to the hospital. She then argued with the family that she didn’t want it. During the day she was firm but at night when they weren’t there she cried. Ultimately they convinced her and started preparing a party for her to say goodbye to all her friends. So sad. And it has made me more skeptical about MAID procedures.
I'm 100% skeptical of peace deals when it comes to the IRGC, and regard them more as stops along the way where the U.S. buys time either to build up its military presence or to give the energy market room to breathe. Happened before. Will happen again.
Fun fact: Exactly zero of these people were in office in 2018, when FIFA announced the World Cup was coming to the US, literally NONE of it occurs in New York City or New York State, and the Governor of New Jersey just got into office. These people did nothing.
