@tteezu I agree that people today often spend way to much time using screens. How much is to much in terms of screen usage? At what point do you feel that it becomes a "crutch"?
@ProfessionalHLB This is a very scary reality that we live in. Do you think that companies should be allowed to have access to so much of our personal data, or do you think there should be some form of government intervention?
Epocrates is an app that allows medical professionals to check drug interactions. This allows them to double check if patients are able to take certain drugs without it having effects with something else a patient is taking

The New York Times discussed apps collecting data and said "The app developers can make money by directly selling their data". This brings up questions on whether or not companies should be allowed to collect and sell users data. #EME4390S21003#DigitalIdentity
The New York Times described phones as "Mobile Surveillance Devices" which is a very scary way of looking at things. Apps collect data like location to improve services in the app. This brings up questions regarding privacy while using apps #EME4390S21003, #DigitalIdentity
Howard Gardener describes a future type of app as "a kind of omniscient GPS" in his article Guest: Are apps becoming a human crutch? This could potentially lead to debates about whether or not apps like this are invading our privacy.

In the "very bad" version of identity politics, in which this quote refers to, it is really hard to have discussions about certain issues that can be constructive

That's a really dangerous thing to do in a multiethnic society, especially a university where we're actually all trying to work together to solve the problem.
@sofiarodezno I found this really interesting too. This surprised me at first that something as formal as worship is done online but it makes sense given the global pandemic. Do you think that this will be something that stays after the pandemic or will services return back to in person only?
@RountreeBryanna 2020 was the first election that I was able to vote in too. Do you think as more and more young people are able to vote that we will see a greater percentage of people voting?
Something interesting I learned while reading "How the digital age is reshaping politics" by Ben Whitford is that certain countries such as Estonia and Switzerland have an online voting system.

While listening to "How Facebook Ads Decided the U.S. Presidential Election" I found it interesting the extent to which Facebook ads were used to help market during the 2016 presidential election. They said that up to 175000 different ads were ran at a time.
