@LittlePersonDoc@SocialistHB@NurseSayNO it’s a bit concerning that a doctor is unaware that mental health social workers are an intrinsic part of any mental health team.
@Urodoc46@DrLKVaughan What exactly was bad about the bad old days? If you’re talking about 100 hour weeks you need to go back over 30 years, surely. Same with the notion that the consultant had any kind of power over your future.
@MichaelRosenYes Evidently not. There are countless examples of vile regimes that get bombed for a few weeks and then surrender their arms and invite the population to hang them. It’s a well known path to peaceful government.
@UKGastroDr@dr_musgrave@TheTelegraph__ If they did, then suddenly a trip to Turkey for a gastric sleeve might seem like a better idea for those who aren't put off by the idea of surgery.
Especially as the meds will probably cost more like 30 grand. And the patent will likely last longer than 10 years.
@UKGastroDr@dr_musgrave@TheTelegraph__ Most of the people I know who are on them (all privately) either hope to keep the weight off because they're eating more healthily, or have had to stop because they can't afford it any more.
I don't know anyone who has said OK, I'm expecting to spend 20 grand over next 10 years.
@gushamilton I’ve not looked at it (or any other Cochrane review) but saw the headlines. Does it just set out to prove that medical training is pointless?
@drkeithsiau@steve_rinaldi@PARALIFELINE I also struggle with names (which I find is a personal and professional handicap), but i don’t see that on the DSM 5. I’m not saying you don’t have ADHD, I just query whether that is part of it.
Where does Twitter fit into your self- management plan for ADHD?
@drkeithsiau His victims are still victims, but ‘deliberate harm’ would make him an unfathomable psychopath. Unfortunately he’s just a butcher, and a stain on the reputation of GOSH.
@drkeithsiau Where has anyone said it was deliberate? He was incompetent and carried on being incompetent because (a) there weren’t robust internal assessment systems, and (b) he didn’t have the integrity to recognise it himself.
@angryhacademic i wouldn’t expect to manage an MS patient because i’m not a neurologist, or a neurorehab doctor, or an MS nurse specialist. My training is in early diagnosis, not management.
@angryhacademic he needs to know your symptoms, how they affect your life, what has helped / not helped in the past, and yes, what you think might be worth trying in terms of treatment. And after all that, he might have thoughts of his own
