@Chiomabtq, The XV is just an Impreza in capital letters or in high heels!😅
These two share the same engine, the same AWD system and also share the same platform. Your decision comes down to one number and one question.
The XV sits at 220mm of ground clearance. The Impreza sits at 130mm. That 90mm difference is the entire conversation for anyone driving here.
On smooth tarmac, both cars feel almost identical because of the same engine, same Symmetrical AWD and a similar driving character. The Impreza actually handles slightly better on a clean road because it sits lower and feels more planted through corners.
But sadly, Our Kampala being the pothole capital of the world with a crazy number of unreasonable humps and speed bumps on almost every road, as @AndrewMwenda recently put it, the XV makes more sense here since it absorbs these speed bumps without drama and literally floats over the potholes. The Impreza just negotiates them. The XV also handles murram village roads and unpaved shortcuts with confidence. The Impreza is capable of managing them as well, but very carefully and you will definitely feel every single one of them.
The XV also comes with X-MODE, which is Subaru's off-road traction management system. The Impreza does not have it.
In simple terms, the Impreza is the better driver's car and the XV is the better Ugandan car from this perspective. For someone who drives primarily in the city and wants the sportier feel, the Impreza is genuinely more enjoyable. For someone whose life includes anything beyond clean tarmac, the XV is the honest answer.
So, the XV is my recommendation for you specifically.
Once you’re all set to buy, please don’t hesitate to get in touch for a comprehensive pre-purchase inspection.
@_owula@msyj05 You could simply use this opportunity to teach those who do not know. Or are we going to pretend that Science is the only course being taught in schools ? There are Business, G Art, V Art and Home Econs students who of course would ask these questions.
I respectfully request my big brother Ladit @norbertmao to not run for Speaker of Parliament. Please listen to your younger brother. We can get better positions. 🙏
