Super excited to share that I successfully defended my PhD thesis on Friday! 🎉
Huge thanks to @FabienMassabuau for always keeping me motivated and challenging me to be the best researcher I can be 🫡
@PhysicsStrath
Lots of exciting discussions yesterday at our poster on sub-bandgap absorption in Ga2O3 at the E-MRS meeting.
Later today I’ll be back at the poster session, demonstrating how we can use the broad, defect mediated absorption properties for water quality monitoring applications
Arrived at the University of Warsaw for the start of an exciting week the E-MRS fall meeting.
Later today I’ll be presenting out work on studying how light is absorbed Gallium Oxide at sub-bandgap energies
Great day in Bristol today talking about all things Gallium Oxide at the Ultra Wide-bandgap oxides conference. Topped off by being awarded the prize for best student presentation 🥳
Less than 1 week to go 📢 Exited to be giving a talk at the UWO in Bristol discussing the impact of Hydrogen on the UV luminescence properties of alpha Ga2O3. See the GIF to see the evolution of the luminescence line at 3.8 eV at low temp ❄

Our paper on Ni/Au contacts in #ALD#Ga2O3 is now published in JJAP @ioppublishing
We studied the structural/chemical/electrical properties of the contact against annealing to gain insights into the mechanisms affecting devices .

Delighted to share my first first-author paper 🥳
Here we use Temperature-dependent photoluminescence to reveal a 3.8 eV emission line in alpha phase Ga2O3 that exhibits a strong dependence with Hydrogen concentration and temperature.

Giving my first seminar to ours friends in Lyon introducing what we do at the SSD group at @PhysicsStrath, as well as an insight into some of the cool properties of Gallium Oxide
Excited to be presenting at my first conference for the #UKNC winter meeting this afternoon, where I will be talking about the luminescence properties of Gallium Oxide @IoPScotland@PhysicsStrath
Come and see our presentations on
- Electric contacts to Ga2O3
- Trench defects in InGaN quantum wells studied by time-resolved CL (pew pew)
- Stacking faults in cubic GaN
New paper on Ti contacts to corundum α-#Ga2O3 just accepted @JPhysD, aka the importance of balancing #diffusion, chemical #stability and #recrystallisation at the contact.

It will be published in @JPhysD Emerging Leaders special issue.
Yayy to the first time my name being on something Sciency. Does the feeling of imposter syndrome ever go away though?
anyway, Check out our paper on the progress of atomic layer deposited alpha-Ga2O3 materials and solar blind detectors-its pretty cool🥳
