Elizabeth Tsurkov was kidnapped in Iraq a tragedy I highlighted when I hosted her brother and sister at our home last March. In her New York Times interview she’s telling her harrowing story of torture, rape, and humiliation that lasted 903 days two and a half years. This all happen to her despite she went to Iraq as researcher doing her PhD at Princeton University. Her ordeal is a stark reminder of how dangerous Iraq truly is, and any claim that “everything is fine” is nothing but total nonsense.
