David's long-term career goals are to teach immunology and inspire others to pursue a career in research. He also would like to collaborate with others in tackling complex diseases, such as graft-versus-host-disease, and have a positive impact on the lives of patients. 5/7

He is most interested in “graft-versus-host-disease, transplant immunology, and hematology. CAR T cells are among the most exciting new therapies to me given their efficacy and domination of blood cancers.” 4/7

He was inspired to become a researcher because “advancing our knowledge engages me in critical thinking, and ultimately stirs up my curiosity. I find the challenge of research very appealing because of the potential reward of being able to improve the lives of patients.” 3/7

David is completing his undergraduate degrees in Microbiology and Spanish and will be joining @WUSTLImmuno for his graduate studies in Fall 2023. 2/7
