Introducing QuickMark!
Teaching PE for years has given me a surprising list of software ideas.
QuickMark came from me wanting a faster way to log the tiny things teachers deal with all day: phones, tardies, uniforms, behavior, moments of greatness, and follow-ups.
Maybe the best app ideas are just annoyances you’ve experienced 1,000 times.
Teachers (especially PE): QuickMark is in TestFlight! Link in bio for anyone who is interested!
My current app development strategy:
Build things I personally wish existed, get them in other people’s hands quickly, keep most of them 100% free.
Then, see what people actually use and spend more time on those.
Worst case, I have at least one happy user per app 😅

@mindinpanic Cool idea! I think the right might be more appealing to the masses, but I really love the design on the left, and a lot of X users in your niche probably will too. Not sure if that helps at all 😅
@ryanships I’m new here so this is pretty small but it solves a real world problem that I’ve had!
My first is QuickMark, a classroom tracker inspired by my own experience as a PE teacher and coach. Currently in TestFlight.

@aryanlabde I’m new here but have a long list of tools I’m excited to make!

I’ll throw in a much simpler one! I’m experimenting with AI to rapidly build and deploy free, practical tools for everyday problems.

@davelee Listening to all of your new cybercab content while FSD drives me to and from work this week! Thank you for your top-notch, insightful realizations. Awesome to hear from you again, and great to hear that things are looking good for your family.
Here’s my rendition of @pntrack “Atomic Workout!”
Observations: I really did feel extremely warmed up and ready for some high intensity movement after. It also really felt like I was doing USEFUL, INTENSE work while truly minimizing fatigue. I can see why so many people like it!
But - word of caution: Last time I tried this a few months ago, I pulled my adductor during my second flying 10. Which is sort-of expected at 34 without recent, consistent sprint training 😅. So this time I switched to 2 sets of 10, 20, 30 at the end. I’ll work up to flying 10s again in the future.
Excited to build this into my weekly routine — Would ultimately love to compete as a masters track athlete starting in a year or two!
@mikepat711 To be fair, when open claw first came out, I didn’t think I would ever give AI semi-full control over my computer, yet here we are with Grok bot! If the product is good enough, user friendly, and a no-brainer financial decision, adoption could be quicker than we think!
@sweatystartup LLMs became more useful, quicker than you thought, yes? Exponential improvement is hard to conceptually understand. That being said, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Maybe not 5x in productivity, but I’d be willing to bet not 1/10th the productivity either. Time will tell!
The singularity is real. I am just a normal dude, and yet: my car drives itself, grok build is writing my code, chat gpt is helping me plan, grok bot is building my site and helping me put everything together. The next 5-10 years are going to be unimaginably wild.
