Violence is not exclusive to the Cincinnati Hamilton County Public system. National organizations and libraries around the country have come up with unique ways to deal with it. @local12
Tenant who lived in a four-plex apartment house in North Avondale lost most of their belongings this morning when a fire broke out at about 2:00 a.m. They thought they had lost one of their cats as well... @Local12
The victim notification system -- VINE -- is down in Hamilton County -- and for the state's juvenile system. That means victims are not getting informed when the suspects in their crimes are let out of jail or prison. @Local12
… but still chose to put this black mark on our great city. We will get justice for Terri Theetge, and those responsible for this disgusting act will be held accountable.”

At a press conference a few minutes ago, the city manager announced she has fired police chief Teresa Theetge after a long investigation into the effectiveness of her leadership. Chief Theetge’s attorney just released the following statement:

Today is a sad day for the City of Cincinnati. Its leaders have taken the shameful step of dismissing one of its most accomplished and beloved public servants for no legitimate reason. They know their phony excuses for this disgraceful action are entirely false…
The City of Cincinnati’s has fired its police chief. City manager is holding a press conference at 10:00 a.m. to announce she has fired Teresa Theetge. She was put on paid administrative leave in October pending an investigation into the effectiveness of her leadership. @Local12
Local 12 has confirmed the City of Cincinnati has hired another law firm to work on the Theetge case. Our sources say the city hired the firm Jackson Lewis. Attorneys for the firm were present Friday at the pre-disciplinary hearing for Police Chief Teresa Theetge. @Local12
The city manager’s office says my post should have said the City’s investigation was an “Independent” investigation, not an “Internal” investigation. @Local12
Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge is at City Hall right now, sitting down with City Mgr Sheryl Long for a Pre-Disciplinary Hearing. The Chief will answer to allegations her leadership lacks effectiveness, following an internal investigation with that conclusion. @Local12
The chief was put on paid administrative leave in October pending the outcome of the investigation. The move came two weeks before the mayoral election and following several high profile violent incidents downtown. Her atty called the move political. The City Mgr denied that.
A city spokesperson sent me this statement following today’s dismissal:“Witnesses who the City anticipated would provide key evidence were not present at court today. As this was the second trial setting for this matter, the case was dismissed for want of prosecution.” @Local12
The prosecution said in court that 2 of their witnesses did not show and they could not continue with trial, so they requested a continuance. It would have been the 3rd one requested by prosecution in this case. So, Judge Donte Johnson dismissed the disorderly conduct charge.
