@AndyJudge Aggressive, below market value sales of assets (Ndiaye & nearly Armstrong), staff redundancies and reports they are seeking investment all suggests asset stripping to reduce overheads and maximise value before completely selling up. Ultimately though, only TFG will truly know.
@Tony_Scott11 Agreed. But also the player being happy to join them doesn’t scream ambition on his part either. Clearly just happy for the big payday. Will be gutted to lose him but he evidently did not have plans to stay after turning down new deals at us.
@daviddownie17 I do agree. Was just, maybe poorly, trying to make a case as to why a permanent deal makes sense. When you look at what some players have gone for this summer, we should be asking for £100m minimum.
@PED7 Coleman was never fit. Tarkowski is never injured. Moyes loves to persist with an experienced centre half - Sylvain Distin and Craig Dawson spring to mind. Both probably maintained a higher standard than Tarkowski has managed in the last half a season.
@MattJFootball Branthwaite aside, how many minutes are the others getting under Moyes? Hackney and Armstrong won’t get a look in ahead of Nørgaard and Garner. George and Dibling won’t get a sniff if Grealish comes back and Ndiaye stays. When the pressure is on, Moyes overlooks young talent.
@Benjwinst You’d assume we haven’t trawled the market and settled on him as no.1 choice? We need two RBs anyway, so another one incoming later in the window?
@piersmorgan Such a weird obsession and agenda. You’ve seen enough football, surely, to know that consistency isn’t particularly something the modern referee is very good at delivering.
@Benjwinst Find a manager that fits the profile of player the club wants to be signing then? We’re in danger of being very short-sighted and slipping back into problems we’ve had in the past with older players on long, expensive contracts. It’s hamstrung us in the past and will do so again.
@footballontnt@johnmerro1 Moyes in a nutshell, that. Will always choose the ‘safe’ option. Terrible advertisement for attracting more dynamic players. Been totally evident this season with the amount of game time McNeil has got over Tyrique George and Tyler Dibling. Destined to stagnate. #EFC
@WatchedToffee For a squad that lacks any depth, is it not the sensible option? Why leave ourselves short in that area when there are no guarantees over who we can get in as first choice? We all clamour for Aznou to get his chance but the reality is we don’t know if he is an upgrade or not.
@GiuliaBould I feel like the article lacks a bit of context. Yes, Grealish’s impact has dipped of late, but the whole team has been poor since we lost our 3 most influential players in Gana, KDH and N’diaye. Just feels like a lazy attempt to get after Grealish’s character.
@GiuliaBould Given that we’ve become very predictable with our approach play, is there any possibility that there will be a change of formation to better accommodate the strengths of the players we’re having to play to fill in for KDH, Gana and N’diaye?
@FiverrSupport Good Morning. I’ve just received an email notification about activating my account. Can confirm this is not me and that someone has clearly used my email address. Please can this account be blocked/removed/reported.
@Benjwinst Since the start of last season he’s missed 25 games for us. He’s our best defender, but so was Yerry Mina. Injury records are starting to look very similar.
