That’s how much Dutch listed companies rely on US tech.
That's not only shocking, but also a wake-up call.
The Trump era makes one thing very clear to me: technology and geopolitics are tightly connected.
If our entire digital infrastructure depends on another country, that’s a big risk.
But it’s also an opportunity.
Europe could use this moment to build its own infrastructure again - and rediscover some of our entrepreneurial spirit along the way.
So I saw the news yesterday that an American family is suing KLM for $200k because they had bed bugs in their flight.
Time to share my own story about bed bugs and KLM!
I flew to Korea last October, and a few hours into the flight we discovered a bed bug walking on my wife's sweater. After closer inspection we found dozens of eggs and multiple (young and adult) bed bugs in the head rests of our seats.
At first the staff tried to tell us it was "just dirt", so after hearing that I had to take some photos and videos as proof. In the end the staff did acknowledge the bed bugs and they wrote several reports about it.
Because the flight was full, they weren't able to offer us new seats, and suggested that we'd just sit on the infested seats. After we refused, they finally offered us the staff seats at the exits for the rest of our 12 hour flight 😅
Given the high number of eggs and different stages of bed bugs we found, it's almost certain that this infestation had been in the plane for weeks, if not months!
After arriving in Korea, I immediately filed a complaint with the KLM with a request for suitable compensation. I expected a "premium" airline like KLM to take complaints like these seriously, but after calling them multiple times in the past months, I still have not even received a reply!
So what do we think, should I sue for $200k as well?
I absolutely hate this new kind of spam.
My calendar gets bombarded with these “appointments” and I cannot seem to block it.
Make my calendar totally useless. Anybody know how to fix this?
🔥Lifehack → Switch from cartridges to old-school razors.
✅ 6800% (!) cheaper. $5,5 for cartridge vs $0.08

Switched almost 10 years ago and will never go back.
A year ago I joked “I’ll take your spot” when someone dropped out of a Bali cowork trip.
Two weeks later I was on a plane… to live in a villa for a month with guys I barely knew.
Classic me.
Turned out to be one of the best decisions ever.
New friends, new office (literally 1 street from my house), and now we’re in Chiang Mai shipping like madman again. Cannot wait to share what I have built for EUrouter!
Wild how one impulsive yes can reshape your whole year.
Week 1 in Chiang Mai didn’t go as planned.
My insomnia completely threw me off again.
I came here ready to ship, to focus, to build.
But instead, I spent most days trying to get my head straight.
Last year I joined a few guys I barely knew for a work month in Bali.
We built side by side, pushed each other, and became close friends.
Now we’re back together - same energy, same mission.
Except this time, my rhythm just isn’t there yet.
It’s hard when everyone around you is laser-focused and you’re just trying to get through the day. But I'm trying see this as a lesson in patience and focussing on the little steps to get back in the game.
Week 2 here I come!
Tired of seeing European data end up in US data centers?
What if we start a volunteer group in Europe to help businesses replace US tools with (privacy-friendly) European or self-hosted alternatives, especially when sensitive data is involved? My assumption is that companies would happily switch if they had the technical help.
I’m thinking of a non-profit foundation that supports and guides them through the change. Could be partly volunteer, partly paid work.
