@MazMHussain They had air superiority pretty quickly after the start of the war, the ceasefire has obviously given Iran time to reconstitue their air defence somewhat
@skdh depends what you mean by 'current technology'. If Starship ends up working out it will reduce launch costs significantly. that alone might not be enough, but probably not far off then (and costs on the ground might keep increasing too).
@LadakuVeemaan@skdh the current design also has inter-satellite laser communications, pretty high speed (in addition to starlink and ground connections).
@wethefifth@sapinker The blank sheet of paper thing isn't just a joke any more, multiple people in Russia have been arrested for doing it in recent years.
@CiaranMcQuaid2@newpeteV1@rtenews ...which was also in retaliation for Hezbollah firing rockets at Israel, as well as for, even before that, not abiding by any of the previous ceasefires, as well as UN resolution 1701. The very existence of Hezbollah is a violation of the sovereignty of Lebanon.
@peterawolf There were still Cornish speakers in the 20th century (when a revival began), and obviously lots of Welsh. Scottish Gaelic also had lots of loan words and other influence from Pictish, before that died out.
@phl43 the funniest philosopher/celebrity anecdote I read was from a biography on AJ Ayer, where he met Mike Tyson at a party being inappropriate with Naomi Campbell
@AndyMasley I think it's more likely they're just incredibly ignorant, and just assume the worst case scenario which aligns with their biases (corporations bad).
@ellelledeell@serenelyjoyful@StuartJRitchie I'm not making any assumptions, we know for a fact they exist in space (confirmed via osiris rex), and there's no evidence for a biological source for these chemicals, and it's proven in the lab that they can be created without one
@ellelledeell@serenelyjoyful@StuartJRitchie There's no evidence of self replicating bio machines in space, it's a far more parsimonious explanation that they were created by normal chemical processes. There's also lab work which proves it's possible without any bio input. It's not a compete picture, but lots of evidence
@ellelledeell@serenelyjoyful@StuartJRitchie There's lots of evidence for that, including the fact that all the required chemical building blocks for biological life can even develop in space. It's really not much of a leap to think that self replicating bio machines can arise in an energy rich environment like our planet.
@serenelyjoyful@StuartJRitchie Logic isn't magic, it cannot generate truth out of thin air, at some point we have to accept one or another metaphysical framework to operate within.
