If you guys think this is a dig at Pat you’re just wrong and don’t know anything about football. Pat threw 7 RPO reads, completed all 7, the shortest was for 3 yards and 6 of the 7 were for 5+ and/or gained the first down. That’s WAY better than 7 handoffs in terms of efficiency and yardage. All he’s saying is that he calls more runs than the stats say (13 for Kareem) it’s just some get thrown. Historically the throws are very efficient because they’re only throw if the look is there. This is what I’ve said repeatedly about when KC goes under center. It’s not an identity and it feels cherry picked, so defenses don’t respect it. They’re one off plays essentially. Denver gave up runs of 5, 7, and 11 on the three under center runs (not counting 3rd and 1) and it doesn’t matter because firstly KC doesn’t do it more, and secondly they know KC is only doing it to take deep shots. It’s a real issue I have with this offense. You have to run teams out of the defenses you’re getting (all designed to take away pass plays) and they refuse to do so.
