Today at the 169th State Executive Council meeting, I restated my avowed position and commitment to the completion of all our ongoing legacy projects across the State.

While I sought the continued cooperation of my cabinet members for our Government of Prosperity to deliver the projects, I called for unity and love among our people for the collective development and prosperity of our dear Bayelsa State.

On the 13th of February, 2020, God showed up in our Governorship bid with that Supreme Court pronouncement.

His Excellency, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo and I, are truly the Miracle Deputy Governor and Governor respectively.

And as we celebrate our 5th year in office, we again acknowledge the hand of God in our emergence and in the life of the Prosperity Administration.

I am glad to extend invitation to our good people of Bayelsa State, friends and allies, to join us this morning at the Ecumenical Centre, Igbogene, for our 5th Anniversary Thanksgiving by 11am.

Today being the Valentine’s Day, is special in the life of our Government of Assured Prosperity.

Five years ago, the Deputy Governor and I, were inaugurated to office to serve you.

Four years later, you renewed our mandate and gave us an overwhelming victory in the second term election.

We shall continue to appreciate God Almighty for His love and protection over us.

It has been a great journey; a journey to build a peaceful, united and prosperous Bayelsa State.

I am glad and humble to acknowledge the massive support from you, the people who are appreciative of our modest achievements in the different sectors.

Our Government will continue to deliver ‘Legacy’ Projects and by the grace of God, we shall finish strong.

Two of my friends, The Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas @Speaker_Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Governor @CalebMutfwang of Plateau State, today inaugurated two different projects in our dear state as part of activities lined up to celebrate the 5th anniversary of our Government of Assured Prosperity.

While Dr. Abbas inaugurated the new Legislator’s Quarters within the New Yenagoa City GRA, Governor Mutfwang honoured us by inaugurating the reconstructed Onuebum-Otuoke road.

We are pushing the frontiers of development further in our stride to build a modern State capital.

I do appreciate all our guests who came to join us in this celebration of success and progress. Nua! Mbana!

This afternoon, I had the honour of having my Brother-Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno @_PastorUmoEno inaugurated the dualised 2.1 kilometres Road 2 in the New Yenagoa City as part of activities marking our 5th Anniversary.

The road connects both the New Commissioner's and Legislator’s Quarters in the new city.

Truly, we are building a modern city in Yenagoa.

Yesterday, my team and I undertook unscheduled visits to St. Jude’s Girls Secondary School, Amarata, in Yenagoa LGA, and the Ijaw National Academy, Kaiama in Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA to inspect facilities in our public secondary schools.

While I have directed the Commissioner for Education, Gentle Emelah, to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the state of the schools, I brought back the memories of my classroom experience as a teacher to interact with the students of St. Jude’s Girls Secondary School.

We are committed to a stronger educational system in Bayelsa State.
