On this day in 1929, the Legislature adopted a state flag design. The person who designed the flag for a contest and won $25 was the curator of the State Building in Reno, NV, "Don" Louis Schellbach III.

As a political science student, I’m grateful for the discussions in @paulklein’s class. Exploring how policies (or the lack of them) shape real lives—and how we can influence those policies—is a powerful reminder of why civic engagement matters!

Did you know the U.S. and New Zealand are the only countries where direct-to-consumer (DTC) pharmaceutical ads are legal? In @paulklein’s @unrpolisci class, a fellow student presented on the impact of these ads—are they informing or manipulating?

Nevada’s housing crisis isn’t limited to students, however, and it demands action. State legislators: students will be at the 2025 session advocating for policy solutions. Let’s work together to build a future where housing is accessible for all Nevadans.
