Most people look at Pi Network and see a cryptocurrency.

But the bigger picture may be far more interesting in my opinion. 🌐🧠

Pi Network has now surpassed 420,000 Pioneer-operated computers participating in its Node network.

That is not simply a number.

It represents a massive distributed infrastructure layer — built from computers operated by people around the world. 💻🌍

In traditional blockchain systems, nodes primarily maintain the ledger and participate in consensus.

Pi Nodes are designed to do that through an adaptation of the Stellar Consensus Protocol, where distributed nodes can reach agreement without relying on energy-intensive Proof-of-Work mining. Instead, the network uses quorum-based consensus and a trust graph to help determine agreement. 🔐⚙️

But the long-term potential of a network with hundreds of thousands of distributed computers may extend far beyond transaction validation.

Think about what distributed computing makes possible:

2️⃣ Developer Protections 🛡️

Non‑custodial developers and blockchain providers NOT treated as money transmitters for building decentralized tech. Knowingly facilitating illegal transactions still carries liability. Right to self‑custody protected.

3️⃣ Stablecoin Rewards 💵

Companies cannot pay passive interest on unused stablecoin balances. Rewards tied to actual activity (transactions/staking) still allowed – as long as they don't function like bank interest.

4️⃣ Crime Enforcement 🚔

More funding, blockchain analytics, and law enforcement training. New cyber center for threats from North Korea/Iran. Stablecoin issuers must comply with lawful orders to freeze, seize, burn, or reissue tokens.

5️⃣ Bankruptcy Protections 🏛️

If exchange/custodian fails, customer crypto remains customer property – not part of bankruptcy estate.

📊 Bottom Line: Protects developers and self‑custody, with stricter rules for politicians, stablecoins, and exchanges. Ethics package still needs bipartisan agreement – 60 votes required.
