@DottyShellz That’s a fair point, but we also have to consider how the weaponisation of racism factored into this. It seems the police prioritised that over the report of a stabbing, which is a critical part of the conversation. Obviously, this should be seen as a police issue, not race.
@cw_503@ymo20241983@_CharlesPreston You aren't a monolithic group of people experiencing things in the exact same way. It would be madness if I thought my emotional relationship with an A24 movie was the same as every other pale white man.
@KirstieMAllsopp My humble opinion is you can be angry at the police without being a racist and having a go at Sikhs. Maybe white people are seeing why black people get outraged when they're unconsciously discriminated against by the police. That's a healthier angle.
@MidnightStar69@MidnightTravlr@JamesTate121 I will always protect innocent children being killed. That's something we all need to do. But zealots and despots on all sides have created this.
@MidnightStar69@MidnightTravlr@JamesTate121 I hate genocide and I won't support it. But, live by theocratic tyranny for centuries, maybe there are consequences. It's messy. I'm atheist, not Jewish.
@Pete6626318344@JamesTate121 If poor black people were the only people being arrested for drug possession would you ask, "what about white collar workers?"
If yes, don't say we can't use comparisons in our argument. Why made the logical fallacy list gospel?
@blixberrie I don't think you understand what happened to mortgage rates for a lot of families in the 80s and how people working two reasonably decent jobs (my parents) still had to budget heavily to run a household. There were bubbles of wealth but also times of hardship.
