DeAI is still very active, but it is in a post‑hype digestion phase rather than a clean uptrend.
In today's market Large AI / DeAI tokens are selling off, while smaller names and infra deals are still getting funded and shipped.
Bittensor (TAO) is rallying into a halving, while Internet Computer (ICP) and the broader AI sector are down sharply over the past month.
The narrative is shifting toward “open intelligence infrastructure” on L2s, GPU clusters, and agent payment rails, plus new security risks from AI agents themselves.
Don't look at me like that😅😂, I'll explain
1. How The DeAI Sector Is Trading
DeAI currently sits inside the broader “AI crypto” bucket, which has been hit hard this year even as narratives stay strong.
In recent weekly move. One sector review shows the AI token market cap fell about 7.3% in a recent week, with all of the top 10 AI tokens in the red and the sector ranked only 16th of 24 narratives by performance, even though Bittensor remains the largest AI token by value.
2025 drawdown.
The same coverage notes that the AI‑crypto sector’s total value is down roughly 74% in 2025, from about 13.5 billion dollars to 3.5 billion dollars, despite ongoing product launches and VC interest.
Big names under pressure. Internet Computer (ICP) spiked to about 9.62 dollars in early November on a DeAI platform update, then dropped about 64% in a month to roughly 3.50 dollars as broader market pressure hit altcoins.
But some DeAI trades are still working. @bittensorai (TAO) just broke above 300 dollars ahead of its first emissions halving, with traders positioning around the event and its role as a decentralized AI model marketplace.
What this actually means is, the narrative is alive, but DeAI is behaving like a high‑beta sector in a choppy market. Big caps are bleeding, small caps and event‑driven plays like TAO’s halving are where most of the speculative energy is.
2. Key DeAI Projects And New Catalysts
A few concrete developments are shaping what “DeAI” means right now.
@bittensor (TAO) as DeAI bellwether.
TAO is still the reference DeAI token. It pays contributors for machine learning models and inference, and its upcoming halving is creating a classic “supply‑cut plus narrative” trade as the network matures.
Internet Computer (@ICP) and the Caffeine DeAI spike.
@dfinity Caffeine DeAI platform update pitched ICP as a fully on‑chain AI cloud (apps, monetization, and a path to deflationary tokenomics), which briefly sent ICP up more than 200% from the lows before giving most of it back.
@ASI_Alliance and GPU infra (@SingularityNET / @CUDOS_ ).
Singularity Compute, part of the Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) alliance, has brought a new NVIDIA GPU cluster in Sweden online to power ASI~Cloud, an OpenAI‑compatible decentralized inference layer aimed at enterprises and Web3 apps.
@DeepNodeAI on Base: DeAI on an L2.
DeepNode, building on Base, raised 5 million dollars across seed and strategic rounds to create an “open intelligence” network that rewards models based on real‑world performance via a Proof‑of‑Work Relevance design, not just raw hashpower.
Agent rails: x402, Allora, GraphAI, Virtuals.
@coinbase x402 protocol is emerging as a payments rail for AI agents on @solana , used for automated pay‑per‑call and coordination between agents and protocols.
@AlloraNetwork focuses on “decentralized AI coordination,” turning model outputs into on‑chain markets for DeFi and autonomous agents.
@GraphAIOfficial is integrating ASI~One, letting agents query live on‑chain data in natural language, while @virtuals_io Protocol recently had to respond to a roughly 500,000 dollar exploit caused by a rogue AI agent, which they are compensating users for.
What this means is the “pure AI token” trade is fading into a broader stack:
🟣GPU clusters,
🟣L2‑based DeAI networks,
🟣Agent payment rails, and
🟣Prediction or coordination layers.
Some are still pre‑token or early‑liquidity, which is where a lot of the build activity is concentrated now.
3. Narrative Shape, Risks, And What To Watch Next
Right now the DeAI narrative is being pulled in three directions at once.
From AI hype to infra and agents.
2023–2024 was about “AI coins go up because AI is hot.” Late 2025 is more about infra: open GPU clouds, agent payment rails, and on‑chain data access for agents. Even large funds like Entrée Capital are raising 300 million dollar vehicles aimed specifically at AI agents and DePIN‑style networks, treating them as core Web3 infra rather than just a meme trade.
Crypto vs AI as verification stack.
@balajis 's framing, that “AI makes everything fake, crypto makes it real,” is gaining traction. The idea is that as AI gets better at generating fakes, blockchains become the verification layer where signatures, transactions, and agent actions are provably real. DeAI projects that explicitly lean into this “crypto as ground truth for AI” story have a clearer long‑term thesis.
Security and tail risk, you could share your bias on this too.
DeAI is also introducing new attack surfaces. The Virtuals exploit shows that AI agents themselves can become an adversarial vector inside DeFi systems. Research cited in the same context suggests more advanced models could autonomously discover smart contract exploits at scale, which amplifies the need for rigorous verification and constraints on agent permissions.
What actually matters over the next few months.
If you are watching this narrative, the most important things to track are:
🟣Real workloads.
🟣GPU utilization
🟣Inference jobs on ASI:Cloud,
TAO subnet activity, nodes and jobs on emerging networks like DeepNode, and actual agent‑transaction volume on rails like x402.
Tokenomics events. Emission halvings and unlocks (TAO halving now, any future supply changes for ASI and ICP) matter more than usual because sector‑wide liquidity is thinner after the big drawdown.
Funding and timelines. Whether @DeepNodeAI hits its Q1 2026 mainnet, and whether similar DeAI or agent networks on @solana , @base , and @ethereum move from testnet hype to production usage.
On security posture. How quickly teams roll out guardrails after incidents like @virtuals_io , and whether “AI‑aware” audit tooling becomes standard around DeAI and agent‑heavy protocols.
What this means is DeAI’s edge is no longer just “AI plus token,” it is about verifiable, open infrastructure that AI apps and agents can run on. The market is pricing that with high volatility and significant drawdowns, but real infra and traffic are still being built underneath.
In concluding I'd say at the moment DeAI is a high‑conviction narrative with bruised charts. Sector value is down hard in 2025 and might go depper , large caps like ICP and other AI tokens have retraced sharply, yet funding and infrastructure launches for decentralized AI compute, agent rails, and coordination networks are continuing & you should keep an eye out for more
If real workloads and agent usage grow into this new DeAI stack while security keeps up, the narrative can stay central in the next cycle, but in the short term it behaves like a very volatile bet on both AI and crypto infra sentiment.

Ever scrolled X all night feeling like the DeFi gods are gatekeeping the real alpha? Wondering who's actually decoding DeAI agents that don't flop or DePIN networks that scale without crumbling
I've been there, grinding solo in the dark Until I got Clarity
First let me tell you a little bout myself and what I bring to the space😅
I know it's been a Buzz lately of how @SonicLabs fast, affordable, and drumming loud with action—oh, and it’s currently a steal at just $0.51 a pop ( $0.6 this morning tho 🌚).
That’s right, Sonic, trading under the slick ticker $S, is down about 50% from its January peak of $1. But don’t let that dip fool you—this isn’t some washed-up has-been. Sonic’s got the goods to make your head spin, and it’s gearing up for a comeback that could leave other Layer 1s eating its dust.
First off, Sonic’s price tag might be modest right now, but its potential is anything but. With a fully diluted valuation (FDV) of around $1.6 billion, it’s one of the cheapest Layer 1 blockchains out there that isn’t just hot air. For the uninitiated, FDV is like the total “what if” value if every single token was out in the wild. A lot of projects play games with low circulating supply and sky-high FDVs, making them look pricier than they deserve. Not Sonic—all its tokens are unlocked, no shady tricks here. What you see is what you get, and at this price, it’s like finding a Ferrari at a garage sale😅 I should tell my old Dev this 😂😂
Now, let’s talk history—Sonic’s been a big deal before. Back in 2021, when it was still rocking the Fantom name, I actually learnt about them from @NobleIrons7de (Based Chad FTM maxi back then)
So, it hit a jaw-dropping $8 billion in total value locked (TVL). That’s the amount of money people have stashed in its ecosystem, a sign of trust and activity. After a rebrand to Sonic, it’s clawing its way back up, already boasting a cool $1.8 billion in TVL. That’s not just a flicker of life—it’s a full-on resurgence. People are pouring in, and the numbers don’t lie.
What’s fueling this comeback? For starters, the big dogs are showing up. AAVE, one of the kings of decentralized finance (DeFi), just integrated with Sonic, bringing $200 million in TVL along for the ride. And that’s just the beginning—experts are betting it’ll grow like wildfire. Why? Because Sonic’s got some of the juiciest stablecoin yields around. If you’re into parking your crypto somewhere safe and watching it earn, Sonic’s like a five-star resort for your USDC or USDT. High returns, low drama—sign me up!
But it’s not just about the yields. Sonic’s got pedigree. The mastermind behind it, Andre Cronje ( @AndreCronjeTech ), is a legend in the developer world. This guy doesn’t mess around—he builds stuff that works, and the community knows it. Speaking of community, Sonic’s got a fanbase that’s ride-or-die. These folks don’t just hodl; they live and breathe this chain. It’s not some ghost town of speculators—it’s a thriving hub where real people are doing real things.
Here’s where it gets even spicier: Sonic’s dropping 200 million $S tokens through airdrops all the way into 2025. That’s about $110 million worth of free goodies at today’s prices, sprinkled across users who actually engage with the chain. This isn’t a “dump and run” scheme—it’s a genius move to spark activity. Farmers are flocking in, DeFi degens are grinding, and the result? Sonic’s buzzing with life. Some are even calling it the best chain for DeFi right now, neck-and-neck with Berachain. That’s high praise in a crowded field.
So, why should you care?
a blockchain with a proven track record, a bargain-bin price, and a rocket strapped to its back. Sonic’s not just another Layer 1—it’s a contender with speed (we’re talking 10,000+ transactions per second), a sexy $S ticker, and a community that’s all in. Sure, it’s down from its January high, but that’s your chance to snag a deal before the crowd catches on. With AAVE pumping in cash, yields drawing in stablecoin lovers, and airdrops keeping the party going, Sonic’s not just interesting—it’s downright irresistible. Keep your eyes on this one.
