@watercrime I mean................... he exactly doesn't nail it tho right? Like.... exactly not? Oh no wait I forgot it's racist for a white man and a black man to write lyrics and music together combining both of their musical traditions ofc ofc.
@watercrime Very fascinated by your idea that my reading habits as a kid are the definition of normality... like the US is just overflowing with neurotic fourth graders reading Red Storm Rising at their older brother's school basketball game.
@watercrime take a look at the fridge and you know you can never go back to being just a man and it doesnt feel like it should matter but it does it definitely definitely does because when you leave the strangers house you have no idea what will be waiting for you when you get to your van
@watercrime realizing it the books not in english anymore its in angelic tongue and you understand it all perfectly and your no longer human but something both more and less and your apart of god forever now and the world is like a strangers home your doing repair work on like just here to
@watercrime ...and Columbo punishes him for it. It's not usually clear how much real affection he holds for the more likeable, charismatic villains (very little imo) but you always know who he fucking HATES.
@watercrime Have fled from every dog I've ever seen. Maniacally cross out the word "dog" in books and signage. Practice True Thought Power Focus which eliminates dogs from even my dreams and subconscious. I've never felt better.
@intothecrevasse It pretty shamelessly cadges its most compelling stuff from better authors and not everything stood up to my middle-aged reread, but it still manages to be fun overall and enthralling in places. I bet you'll enjoy it.
"Finished" The Pale King today. I had a great time reading it, but it's hard not to just think of what it could have been, and what more he could have written, and everything else we've all lost over the years.
I've got a few thoughts about the Oscars. Not really something I need to share here though. Or really anywhere I guess. I'll probably forget about them tomorrow, disappearing into the ether like so many others. Tears in the rain and all that. For the best really
@JeremyMonjo Wild, maverick takes like this are what Jeremites like me live for. I'm anticipating a rare L for our brave hero but the Cassanda line here could be the big payoff we knew was coming someday. Either way, gonna be a helluva show.
@JeremyMonjo Ever watch The Prisoner? McGoohan really goes wild, and the whole thing is bizarre but also boring in a way that I think has aged really well. Lots of room for head canon, which is really all I need nowadays.
