@thatangrymick Shane inspired you for roughness of voice? For me his fluid switching of accent was so inspiring. I had a London accent till I was like 7 and got my Irish accent haha so it’s not always easy to sing authentically. Shane taught me go for the vowel that expresses it at that moment.

After a servant overhears Queen Medb’s messengers talking shit about Ulster, he leaves their meals without saying “eat” or “don’t eat” (ith / ná ith). What a lovely picture of ancient hospitality shown by its absence.
