Risk and Risk Exposure - those are the only 2 factors a that are really within your control.
How MUCH do you risk and how OFTEN do you risk.
Price and the Trade itself is completely out of your control - its gonna do whatever it wants to do and yet you obsess with exactly it.
Profitable traders know and understand every trade is gamble, a calculated bet with statistical reliability over a series of events.
Unprofitable traders seek certainty. Obsessed with the single transaction and unable to see the bigger picture.
"If you're terrific in this business, you're right six times out of ten." - Peter Lynch
I find that the inexperienced trader will allow those four losses to dictate if they are ruined or not..
When HTF order flow is bullish...
EVERY bearish PD Array on the LTF will fail. Your SIBIs will turn into inverted FVG or BPRs. Your order blocks will turn into mitigation blocks or breakers.
Stop thinking you are finding high probability setups from lower timeframe traps.
Good traders are profitable, content with their returns and continue to make withdrawals
Great traders treat it like a science, business and art all in one.
Looking for constant refinements and optimisations
There’s one key difference between Good and GREAT traders:
You need 4 habits:
One that builds your mind.
One that builds your body.
One that builds your business.
One that builds your relationships.
The good life is the process of becoming everything you could be.
You probably already have all the knowledge you need
Learn how to apply it
Can you define everything? Defining concepts helps you create a trading plan around it
80% mechanical and 20% subjectivity would be my advise when just starting out
The 80% is your guide line, so you don't just take a completely random trade
The 20% is your potential which comes from experience and time
Want to improve you trading plan? Focus on time in the markets, mess up and blow a few accounts. But don't change the foundation of your mechanical approach
“If you’re taught you can’t do anything you can’t do anything” Kanye 🗣️
Mental reprogramming. Do not stop working on reprogramming your patterns of thinking until you delude yourself into holding you at the highest possible standard.
The person you respect the most has to be you, first, if you’re to take on the world.
What’s the point of doing 1000, 2000, or even 3000 hours of testing. If you're going to constantly change your trading rules because you always want to be, Right?
Do you want to be Right or Make money?
Pick one… because I’m gonna tell you a secret…
You can’t have both.
What separates winning traders from losing traders?
It's not education, it's not secrets, it's not intelligence. It's not faster computers; it's not a larger trading account. It's not better indicators...
It comes down to Discipline, Patience, and Persistence.
Don't underestimate the power of discipline in trading because, without it, all systems will not work.
Why build a trading system, test it, find out it has a positive expectancy, AND THEN NOT FOLLOW IT???
Sounds crazy, but people do it all the time. Discipline is the answer.
I became a profitable trader the day I took a hard look in the mirror
You fail because of you
Not the prop firm
Not the broker
Not the guru
You
It's your fault
Understand this and thrive
Ignore and continue to operate at a mediocre level
Your choice
The most common mistake ICT traders make is becoming a pattern trader.
You go from being confused, to finding something so “simple” and you attach to it, maybe even go on a winners steak (luck).
Then you are suddenly losing again and again, not understanding why it’s not working, when in reality, you have just neglected the framework of EVERY LTF pattern, which is daily bias/HTF narrative.
Indecision will lead you to a future filled with empty pockets and broken dreams
To get what you want you gotta know what you want
Gotta focus
Learn one strategy intimately inside and out
Quit chasing shiny objects it leads no where good
Who said ICT is the golden goose of trading? Ever seen retail concept traders rake in more in a day?
Why do you think that is?
It's not your technical analysis that pays you
It's how you handle yourself during a trade, patience, discipline, trust in your plan.
