Anyone else in District 99 get this text? They gave Democrats more power than they ever had before, while bragging about how they "banned" Democrats from chairing committees in the Texas House. That is the same thing as calling his voters stupid!

Ask yourself why every House Democrat voted for rules that ban them from chairing committees? Here is the scoop.

Charlie voted with almost every Democrat to block debate and prevent amendments from being offered, then voted in favor of adopting the rules. The rules mandate that all committee vice-chairs be Democrats and gives these Democratic vice-chairs additional power that vice-chairs have never had, such as designating invited witnesses to testify in committee hearings, prioritizing measures for consideration by the committee, and requesting impact statements for legislation under review. It also rewards these Democratic vice-chairs with an additional $4,000 a month stipend.

Additionally, the rules establish twelve new “permanent standing subcommittees with no restrictions regarding which party may chair them, while other committees have Democratic majorities.
