“The Vatican has replaced Silicon Valley as ground zero for disruptive thinking. The Catholic church … is becoming a beacon of light in a very dark world…. The pope has become a reassuring – and all too rare – voice of moral clarity.” https://t.co/Y85YTArice
I am deeply saddened to learn of the loss of life and injury caused by the military attack on the Holy Family Catholic Church in #Gaza. I assure the parish community of my spiritual closeness. I commend the souls of the deceased to the loving mercy of Almighty God, and pray for their families and the injured. I renew my call for an immediate ceasefire. Only dialogue and reconciliation can ensure enduring peace!
The Holy Family Church in Gaza was struck by an Israeli attack on Thursday. The strike killed three people, including the parish's 60-year-old janitor and an 84-year-old woman receiving psychosocial support inside a Caritas tent in the church compound. Father Gabriele Romanelli was injured and later returned to check on the wounded. At least 14 people were injured in the attack.
The Holy Family Church is considered the last Christian refuge in Gaza, where dozens of families have been sheltering since the outbreak of the war in October 2023.

Perhaps the most obvious response to this survey should be for churches to use the (modified) traditional version that so many people recognise and know, rather than the newer version known only to regular attenders.
