I am SO proud of my sweet students for competing in the Battle of the Books today! They all did an amazing job and represented our class well! ❤️💙📚 Thank you @DebFowlerd for all your preparation and hard work with our kids! @pvespride
Ended our day with a book tasting complete with crackling "fire", holiday songs, great fiction & nonfiction books about holiday traditions from around the world, cookies, and juice! Thank you again @DebFowlerd for helping make this idea fun and successful! @pvespride#pvespride
Started our morning by learning steps to research to kick off our next project. Thanks @DebFowlerd for showing us proper note-taking strategies! @pvespride#pvespride
In my experience, rarely have I encountered a situation where a teacher who had solid connections & rapport with students was struggling with classroom management.
The best way to prevent poor behavior is a strong #relationship.
Each of our students has a story.
Portions of the story have already been written... some good & some perhaps not so good.
Either way, there's often plenty of the story we will never know, as well as, much still to be written.
Be a positive chapter in their story.
Not usually violent, but when I hear the words “reading” & “accountability” together, I’ve the urge to hit! IF YOU DON’T HAVE A CLASSROOM LIBRARY, ARE NOT CAPABLE OF RECOMMENDING BOOKS TO KIDS B/C YOU DO NOT READ, & DO NOT VALUE CHOICE, IT’S NOT THEM. YOU’RE why they don’t read!
No high-performing nation tests every child every year from grades 3-8. That is NCLB requirement, based on non-existent TX miracle. Finland has no standardized tests. Others test once in elementary school, once in middle school, once in high school.
