⛈️ FIGHTING FOR A FLOOD-RESILIENT FUTURE⛈️
Mayor Bill Saffo joined our regional partners with the @floodcoalition and traveled to Raleigh this week to meet with state lawmakers to discuss the flood resiliency needs of Wilmington and the surrounding, flood-prone communities.
Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday, March 12 🕒 Turn your clocks forward one hour Saturday night before you head to bed. It's also an opportunity to cross off a few seasonal household tasks, like replacing batteries in smoke alarms & restocking emergency kits. #ReadyNHC
Today's #SevereWx Preparedness tip is about flash floods. Remember, driving thru just 6 inches of standing water can cause vehicles to lose control & stall. A foot of water is enough to make most small vehicles float. Don’t drive through flooded roads – turn around, don’t drown!
