Wine grapes can lose significant yield and quality of produce under surplus moisture during monsoon season. We are seeding perennial native cover crops in vineyards to scavenge surplus water and protect #SoilHealth.

@MuratSalih_MS There are several grasses and broadleaves: merced cereal rye, oats, triticale, barley, canola, mustard, fava beans. But no, we haven’t done any research on heavy clays of AZ. We did some research on heavy clays in SD. Hope this helps.

Our cover crop mixes outperformed single species cover crop, cereal rye, when planted at a same rate, 40 lbs./ac.
